Career Counselling & Coaching Sydney

Established in 2002, our Sydney Career Counselling & Career Coaching Service is designed to help you identify the careers, courses and jobs that best suit you, and give you the tools and knowledge you need to achieve your career goals.

Our Sydney Career Coaches and Career Advisors have extensive experience in their field and have worked with clients from a wide range of industries. They work with people at different stages of their career including:

  • High school students who need advice on their career, course and subject options
  • University graduates who are looking for help in kick-starting their career
  • People who want to change careers and need help establishing their future direction
  • People who would like to enrol in further study and need help choosing the right course
  • Professionals who would like to move up the ranks and fulfil their potential.

Whether you are looking to change careers or are just interested to know which careers suit you best, our Career Advisors can help! They will start by identifying your goals for the session and the outcomes you are looking to achieve. They will then prepare a customised session for you, tailored to suit your individual needs.

Career Counselling Program

Step 1 – Online Career Assessment

In this program, we start by assessing your interests, values and personality to identify the careers, industries and work environment that best suit you. The career assessment includes:

a) Career Interests Profiler

The Career Interests Profiler assesses your interest in a variety of activities, industries and occupations to determine the careers and areas of study you are most likely to enjoy. It contains an extensive database of more than 500 careers and courses. Duration: Approx 20 minutes

b) Career Personality Profiler

The Career Personality Profiler is based on the theory of psychological types described by Swiss psychiatrist C.G Jung and Isabel Myers. It assesses four aspects of your personality based on the following scales: Informer-Reflector, Producer-Creator, Analyser-Helper and Planner-Adapter. Duration: Approx 10 minutes

Step 2 – Career Consultation

Once you have taken the career assessment online, your Career Coach will prepare detailed information for you on your career options. At your consultation, they will go through your results and give you advice on your career, course and employment options.

During your consultation, you will:

  • Discover the careers that best suit your interests, values and personality
  • Explore your career options and get help identifying the career that best suits you
  • Learn about your course options at TAFE, college and/or university
  • Get advice on any careers and courses you are currently considering
  • Get feedback on your resume and advice on how to tailor it for different positions
  • Develop an action plan to help you on your path to a fulfilling career.


PLEASE NOTE: 
This program is suitable for high school students, graduates and people who are working in non-management roles up to the mid-level tier. If you are working in a senior role, management role or executive position, please see our Executive Career Coaching Program.


Options

1. Face-to-Face Consultation

Prior to your consultation, your Career Coach will email you the instructions for the online career assessment. You will receive your reports at your consultation.

Fees:

  • Online Career Assessment + Face-to-Face Consultation (1 ½ hours): $395 including GST
  • Follow-Up Consultations – Optional (1 hour): $295 including GST

Payment is due on the day of your consultation by cash or credit card (Visa or Mastercard).

2. Phone Consultation

To proceed with a phone consultation, click here to take the online career assessment. Your reports will be emailed to you once you complete the assessment. Your Career Coach will then contact you to arrange a time for your phone consultation.

Fees:

  • Online Career Assessment + Phone Consultation (1 hour): $295 including GST
  • Follow-Up Consultations – Optional (1 hour): $295 including GST

*Payment is due prior to your phone consultation by credit card (Visa or Mastercard). Calls can be made via SKYPE or alternatively your consultant can provide you with their landline number to call at the time of your consultation. You will need to cover the cost of the phone call to your consultant.

Originally from Scotland, Julie’s corporate background spans both the private and public sectors where she has worked within the Health, Finance, Investments and Education industries as well as for Local Council and Government.

Julie’s passion for career development began as part of a personal journey. After being made redundant in 2004, she received outplacement support which she found enormously beneficial. From there Julie began to transition her own career into providing career services for others, utilising her skills and experience within Human Resources and People Management and supplementing these with Learning & Development and Coaching experience. Qualified with a Certificate in Personnel Practice and a Certificate in Training Practice from the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD) in the UK, Julie has also completed a Certificate in Coaching and an Advanced Diploma in Business.

4 tips to decide if a sea/tree change is right for you
